In relation to Ventosa article below, I was chatting with a patient regarding the use of Ventosa treatments for one of his ailments. Prior, it was my plan to open a clinic for advanced integrative treatment esp. for sports injuries and other orthopedic problems. Plate Rich Plasma, Prototherapy et al. were some of the options I have considered. My decision changed on some matters while I was informing the patient of his Ventosa option and I realized that it was the superior, less invasive option as compared to PRP, on the basis of the similar dynamics alone. What more if we include the other esoteric functions of Ventosa.
I'll make this short.

The 2016 Olympics put the spotlight on 2 items in particular. The culpability of the Russian sports program and its association to doping, and the use of Ventosa by top tier athletes in different countries.
What strikes me (just like in similar articles below) is that what has been known by actors for several years, and by the Chinese for thousands of years, is only recently discovered by the top tier sports industry. It seems that the search for the truth takes longer for some. Especially for those who need it most. As Michael Phelps swears by it and in his own words, helps in recovery and injuries way faster and in a more benign way. One can only wonder how this will make the conventional medical practitioner feel. For the layman like Phelps and the western medical establishment, recovery and injuries is only the surface, as Ventosa hides a deeper and more beneficial purpose. Patient is male, in his 60's. For the last few months, the patient has undergone a treatment regimen of acupuncture, powerlifting, and lifestyle change to a heavy fruit and vegetable diet and is made to live in a farm. His leukemia is currently in remission and has greatly improved his musculature from a frail old man to a solid functional body like a carpenters.

The UFC partners with sports conditioning institute called EXOS that purports to have a high level of intelligent athletic conditioning not done in most places. After watching the video above I generally agree with them. I have always insisted on the use of holistic training to maximize ones goal. This includes certain truths with training, nutrition and true medicine. Facts that I have noticed are prevalent in the video shown above. As the true chinese monks trained in their Gong Fu. The use of energy manipulation in development, recovery and combat had largely remained an open secret and not generally accepted by the skeptical, arrogant, ignorant public and religionists. Exos' use of acupuncture is a first and small step towards that direction. Perhaps, with little idea on the monumental significance on not just an athlete's performance, an individual's life, but an industry's evolution. Subject is male, in his 50's, experiencing lower back pain for over 2 weeks. Subject has been advised to undergo "rehab" which included a lot of "stretching" and other mediocre exercises, and take some steroids.
I have brought the subject to the gym and have conducted an escalating, (empty bar-245lbs), 5x5 routine at his top weight. Subject could lift more but I advised the subject to be at less than 80% inensity. By the time the subject had reach top weight from a starting weight of empty bar (45lbs),135,185,225, and finally 245lbs. The pain was completely gone and subject had full mobility. Whereas weeks of rehab including stretching exercises were of minimal effect. http://www.treehugger.com/health/vitamins-can-actually-increase-cancer-risk-new-research-reveals.html
This article correlates to a previous blog mentioning the "energy value" of food (fruits) taken directly vs. processed vitamins and that the material component isn't the only determinant but the "energy component" as well. Notable quotes from the article include: “We are not sure why this is happening at the molecular level but evidence shows that people who take more dietary supplements than needed tend to have a higher risk of developing cancer,” explains Byers, associate director for cancer prevention and control at the CU Cancer Center. Byers’ research started two decades ago when it was observed that those who ate more fruits and vegetables tended to have less cancer. Byers and other researchers began investigating whether or not taking extra vitamins and minerals would reduce cancer risk even further. “We found that the supplements were actually not beneficial for their health. In fact, some people actually got more cancer while on the vitamins,” says Byers. "there is no substitute for good, nutritional food." Again, the indians and the chinese got their medicine right. Unprocessed and alive. http://www.treehugger.com/health/there-no-such-thing-detox-cleanse.html
The article above states that there is no such thing as detox via food and that there is a natural process of detoxification thru the body's natural functions. This is party true in the sense that the food itself doesn't perform any function directly to the poisons within, except for one below. However, the foods stated do perform a function that boosts the bodies natural ability to remove and excrete toxins. From fruits, vegetables, vitamins, even exercise et al. Thusly, the article is wholly wrong on the matter. Lastly, there are already proven direct effects of chinese coriander (wan soy) to metals in the body and achieve a natural chelation treatment. http://www.livescience.com/41602-frailty-is-medical-condition.html Finally, an acknowledgement (again) to my assertions that aging and the accompanying weaknesses that come with it, are EASILY avoided, and not necessarily a finality. Unfortunately, society deems many things that are accepted and standard, such as old people are weak and therefore you must help them. Girls are the weaker sex and therefore we must accommodate them. Et al. These paradigms are not only limiting but worst of all, contribute to the myriad of costs, hindrances, and poorer levels of livingness associated with the less holistic paradigms. What is wrong with the article above is that it provides substandard solutions. As previously mentioned, for the hundreds of times, performance escalating exercise, powerlifting style, is the best simple solution to this illness. The real disease on this matter is IGNORANCE. By now everyone is probably tired from the media hoopla of the Ice Bucket Challenge for the research of ALS more commonly known as Lou Gherigs Disease.
Most of you have probably googled it by now but for those not in the know, ALS is a form of motor neuron degeneration that eventually leads to the victim wasting away unto death in several months. I was recently given the ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE to which I said NO @#$%@# WAY!!!! I agree and am completely supportive of that endeavor and most of all, impressed with the efficacy and the creativity of it. WHAT I DO NOT AGREE IN IS THIS: The money used for the research of ALS will be towards a focus which I believe will have less holistic benefits and more costs. Conventional medicine has shown us that to be healthy, you have to spend tons of money and be dependent on "medicines", as is the nature of most "medicine", for the rest of their lives. Meaning: Its a waste of research money and all the people's donations. I challenge the ALS research community to do their research on POWERLIFTING AS A PREVENTION of ALS and Acupuncture and other forms of similar "energy medicine" for the cure of ALS. i will not be surprised of the results. Of which I am already familiar with. After watching the youtube video above I will stress a few matters.
Will Brink states that as early as 1992 era, he has noticed, based on his biochemical education, that the pathways to converting protein to body fat is so vast that he realized that it was near impossible to convert protein to body fat and is surprised that fellow biochemists seem to "not get it". The parallel rings true for the countless and numerous studies on the effects of exercise on different diseases and yet the medical community doesn't "get" that proper exercise should be the primary form of intervention for almost all disease. The same can also be said about traditional chinese medicine doctors not focusing on exercise as well. TCM Doctors can be considered an even bigger culprit since they among all others, would/should have been aware of the correlations of health and exercise. WMD (western doctors) have more excuse, although their research no longer grants them the luxury of ignorance for their culpability. On an institutional standpoint, the culpability of the diet and nutrition industry is even more vast as somehow the obvious has slipped from their sight and they continue to perpetuate the lie of calories and the conventional nutrition education for fat loss/gain. Why the more esoteric field of bodybuilders, performance trainors/athletes seem to know this very basic of truth(for decades) whilst the giant institutions of medicine, nutrition and health seems NOT TO KNOW THIS is simply absurd. Perhaps Dr. Atkins is the only enlightened one among them. |
