I have brought the subject to the gym and have conducted an escalating, (empty bar-245lbs), 5x5 routine at his top weight. Subject could lift more but I advised the subject to be at less than 80% inensity.
By the time the subject had reach top weight from a starting weight of empty bar (45lbs),135,185,225, and finally 245lbs. The pain was completely gone and subject had full mobility.
Whereas weeks of rehab including stretching exercises were of minimal effect.
