Note: He is AWARE that his current protocol is not working.
I counseled him on doing certain exercises to fix his problem but he was resistant. In fact he said "I wont risk my health on anecdotal counsel. I'll wait first for conclusive studies and until then I will follow my doctor."
My comments are the ff.:
- "...I will follow my doctor..". You already said that your protocol is not working. Yet you continue to follow the person that has given you no conclusive solution.
- You haven't even done the exercises. You haven't even started. How do you know that it wont work? Gym is cheaper than your metformin and other treatments and you have nothing to lose from your already ineffective protocol. You have nothing to lose by exercising.
- Anecdotal evidence? Only ignorant people, doctors included, will say this. There are tons of existing, conclusive studies and other research that show a reversal of these lifestyle diseases. Personally, I refuse to forward these studies esp. to "patients' like these since they will always have something negative to think or say. The person involved is decently educated and intelligent. It is almost unfathomable that he is unaware about the benefits of exercise. Just as there are also intelligent Trump voters. There is nothing you can do to convince them otherwise.
In the final analysis, I will let him live with his mistake. I think the best time to give him the "conclusive studies" is AFTER his legs are amputated.
