This yahoo article just brings to the fore my focus on exercise as PRIMARY MEDICINE. While i have many hundreds of good comments about the matter, let me focus on my negative opinions as the positive ones are already apparent in my previous posts.
Manohar Aich is the 1952 Mr. Universe who is still relatively healthy and fully functional at a 100 years old.
My negative comments are:
1. He could still be in better shape if he had maintained a higher level of performance training. Age notwithstanding. Ergo, he could have been a "superman" at 100 years. It is in my observation that he did not "push" his training further, or has deliberately let it degrade with age.
2. He should have followed more of a powerlifting/olympic lifting training than bodybuilding to maintain a more superior level of health and functionality. Bodybuilding training techniques are less capable in developing those levels of improvement and power.
Either way, congratulation to him for overtaking Jack Lalanne.
